#23 - Standardized Test Scores

What’s the Problem?
MEAP consistency
What’s the Plan?
  1.  Analyze MEAP data from previous year
  2. Select GLCE’s that students “just missed”
  3. Target bubble students
  4. Incentive GLCE tracking charts in every classroom for math and reading
  5. Individualized student portfolios-breakdown of each students’ performance on each question
  •  Students had individual tracking charts
    •  Non-mastered, progressing, mastery
  • Student grouping by skills
  • Students assessed until they achieved mastery
  • MEAP released items used
  • Collaborated more deliberately with K-2
    • Vertical alignment
    • Triangulation

Internal Communication
  • Create buy-in with all staff members
    • Staff meetings
    • Trainings
  • Communicate expectations in writing via handouts and emails
  • Incentive bulletin boards in classrooms between classes
  • Morning Assemblies

External Communication
  • Ad in newspaper depicting scores
  • Website
  • Marquee
  • Newsletters to Parents
  • Parent Night
  • Defeat the MEAP night at Boys and Girls Club
